Learn the math: Add & Subtract Fractions with Like Denominators
Fractions with the same denominator already use equal-size parts. Add or subtract their numerators while keeping the denominator.
A worked example
Three fifths plus four fifths is seven fifths: 3/5 + 4/5 = 7/5 = 1 2/5.
Keep in mind while you play
Do not add the denominators; the size of each fifth stays the same.
