Unit-Step Workshop

Place equal blocks end to end and measure every object.
MEASURING MISSION

Measure the pencil with equal blocks. How many blocks long is it?

pencil
STARTEND
Add equal blocks from the start.

Learn the math: Measuring Length by Iterating Equal Units

Iterating a unit means placing the same length repeatedly along an object. The number of repeats gives the measured length.

A worked example

If six equal blocks exactly reach from the start line to the object's end, the length is six block units.

Keep in mind while you play

Stop at the endpoint; an extra block would overmeasure the object.
